After a long wait, finally we have a Ladurée here in South Florida. Ladurée, famous for its macarons, opened a tiny store on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. I was a little disappointed with the size of the shop, just because I was expecting to have a tea-room pastry shop like the Soho location in New York. But nevertheless, they are here and their macarons have no competition. In my anticipation, I tried several times to make them at home, even took a class with a pastry chef. Nothing came out to my satisfaction. Any tips for making them at home? I really wanted to make macarons and feel like I’m in in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.
Having this petite sample of Ladurée here in Miami, is like taking home a bit of the Laduree Champs d’Elysee tea salon home with you. I had a tasting of “La Tentation de Nina” a collaboration with Nina Ricci’s new line of fragrances. A delicious and unique macaron made of raspberry, lemon, bulgarian rose topped with a gold leaf. I’ll have to try the perfume to see. After, I sat in a coffee shop near Laduree and tried a bite of almost every flavor, and of course loved them all. The rest I brought home for for the family to try. Très chic Ladurée!
